How do I navigate Amazon Music app?

Getting Started with Amazon Music
To get started with Amazon Music, the first step is to download the Amazon Music app onto your device. The app is available for both iOS and Android platforms and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Once you have downloaded the app, open it and sign in using your Amazon account credentials. If you don’t already have an Amazon account, you will need to create one first before signing in.
The Amazon Music app has a clean, minimalist layout that makes it easy to find music and navigate the app. The main tabs at the bottom of the screen include Home, Store, Library, and Search. The Home tab shows personalized recommendations and playlists. The Store tab allows you to browse new releases and bestselling albums and songs. The Library tab contains your music collection, playlists, and downloaded music for offline listening. Finally, the Search tab lets you search for artists, albums, songs, or playlists.
That covers the basics of getting started with the Amazon Music app – downloading, signing in, and getting familiar with the main interface. With your account set up, you’re ready to start exploring music and personalizing the experience.
Browsing and Searching for Music
The Amazon Music app makes it easy to browse and search for music in a variety of ways:
Using the search bar at the top of the app, you can search for songs, albums, artists, or playlists. Simply type in a keyword or phrase and Amazon Music will show matching results.
Under the “Browse” tab, you can browse music selections personalized for you based on your listening history, as well as browse by genre, mood, activity, era, and more. This allows you to explore music that fits a certain vibe or occasion.
You can also use Alexa voice search by tapping the microphone icon in the search bar. Say an artist, song, or playlist name and Alexa will find matching results from the Amazon Music catalog. This provides a hands-free way to search within the app.
With all of these browsing and search options, it’s easy to find new music to listen to in the Amazon Music app. The personalized recommendations and voice search especially help surface music you’ll enjoy based on your tastes and listening history.
Creating and Managing Playlists
Making new playlists on Amazon Music is easy. Simply tap the “+” icon at the top of the Playlists screen to create a new playlist. Give your playlist a name and description. You can then start adding songs by tapping the “+” icon next to tracks in your library or search results.
To add songs to an existing playlist, tap the “…” icon next to a track and select “Add to Playlist”. Choose the playlist you want to add it to from the list. You can also long press on a song and drag it into a playlist on the Playlists screen.

To reorder songs in a playlist, long press on a track and drag it to the new position. The order will update automatically.
To download a playlist for offline listening, tap the “…” icon at the top right of the playlist screen and choose “Make Available Offline”. The tracks will download to your device so you can listen without an internet connection. You can toggle this on and off as needed.
Playlists have a limit of 2500 songs total. If you want playlists to sync across your Amazon Music library on all devices, enable playlist syncing in your account settings.

Downloading Music for Offline Listening
One of the key features of Amazon Music is the ability to download songs, albums, and playlists for offline listening when you don’t have an internet connection. Here’s how to download music for offline listening on the Amazon Music app:
To start, open the Amazon Music app and tap on the “My Music” tab. This will display all of your music library including any playlists you have created. To download a playlist, album, or song for offline listening, tap on the “download” icon next to it. The downloads will begin and you’ll see a download progress bar.
Once the downloads are complete, you’ll see a checkmark next to items that have been downloaded. These songs and playlists will now be available for offline listening even without an internet connection. To listen offline, simply tap on a downloaded song or playlist. The app will automatically switch to offline mode.
To manage and delete downloads, go to “Settings” and select “Music Settings”. Here you can see all your offline downloads. Tap “Edit” and select downloads you want to remove. This will delete them from your device freeing up storage space.
According to Amazon’s help documentation, downloaded songs are only accessible within the Amazon Music app. It’s not possible to export them for use in other apps and devices (source). Offline listening is an Amazon Music feature to make it easier to enjoy your music library anywhere.
Using Amazon Music on Alexa Devices
You can listen to your Amazon Music library using Alexa devices like the Amazon Echo. To get started, you’ll need to link your Amazon Music account to the Alexa app.
To link your Amazon Music account to Alexa:
- Open the Alexa app on your mobile device.
- Tap the three-line “hamburger” menu icon in the top left.
- Select “Music & Media” from the menu.
- Choose “Link New Service” and select “Amazon Music” from the list.
- Enter your Amazon username and password to link accounts.
Once linked, you can request music by song title, artist name, album, playlist and more using your voice. Say things like “Alexa, play my Favorites playlist from Amazon Music” or “Alexa, play the album Thriller by Michael Jackson.”

Sharing Music
The Amazon Music app allows you to easily share songs, albums, and playlists with friends and family. To share a song, album, or playlist, open the Amazon Music app and navigate to the content you want to share. Tap the “Share” icon, which looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it.
This will open up sharing options like Messages, Facebook, Twitter, email, and more. Tap on the option you want to use to share the content. A link or thumbnail will be generated that you can then paste into the message or post.
When someone receives your shared Amazon Music content, they can tap on the link or thumbnail to open it in the Amazon Music app or web player as long as they have an Amazon account. This allows you to share your favorite playlists and albums for others to enjoy.
You can also enable sharing on specific playlists so that anyone with the link can view the playlist without needing an Amazon account. To do this, select the playlist, open the sharing menu, tap “Get link”, then enable “Public” to get a public URL anyone can access.

Troubleshooting Common Issues
If you experience issues using the Amazon Music app such as playback errors or syncing problems, there are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Playback errors like songs not loading or playback stopping unexpectedly are one of the most common issues. First, make sure the app is updated to the latest version. Go to your device’s app store to check for and install any available updates. Also try force stopping the Amazon Music app by opening your device’s Settings > Apps > Amazon Music > Force Stop. Then clear the app cache and data before re-launching the app.
Syncing issues between devices can also occur. Check that all your devices are connected to the internet and logged into the same Amazon account. You may need to manually sync your music library across devices through the app settings. If your music downloads are interrupted, try downloading again over a stable WiFi connection.
If issues persist, you can contact Amazon customer service for troubleshooting help. Make sure to provide details on the specific issue you’re experiencing and what device you’re using. There are also user forums where you can find fixes from other users experiencing similar problems.
